Tube Clamp Fittings in Malleable Cast Iron – Hot-Dip Galvanised

Tube clamp fittings in malleable cast iron, hot-dip galvanised and electro-galvanised

The load-bearing range for handrail and railing construction: tube clamp fittings in malleable cast iron to ASTM A197, hot-dip galvanised to ASTM A153 and additionally electro-galvanised. Every fitting is supplied with a stainless steel 304 (V2A) grub screw that will not seize outdoors even after years.

Why malleable cast iron

Malleable cast iron has a tough microstructure: it does not fracture in a brittle way but deforms visibly under overload before it fails. For a component that holds a guardrail together, that is exactly the difference between a warning and sudden failure.

TÜV type-tested

The entire range is type-tested by TÜV Rheinland (test report no. 17704961 001). With every item you will find the permissible bending moment and the permissible slip resistance under “Technical data” – both values already include the safety factor of 2.0. Details on the page TÜV testing and material.

Available sizes

For tube outside diameters 21.3 mm, 26.9 mm, 33.7 mm, 42.4 mm, 48.3 mm and 60.3 mm. The standard in railing construction is Ø 42.4 mm.

How this differs from the stainless steel range

Malleable iron fittings are clamped – push the tube in, tighten the screw, done, and they can be dismantled again at any time. The stainless steel tube fittings in 304 (V2A), by contrast, are push-fit and bonded and stay bright; the TÜV load values do not apply to them.
