Stainless steel grub screws for tube clamp fittings

The stainless steel grub screw clamps the tube inside the fitting and cuts itself into the material as it does so. Every tube clamp fitting is supplied with the matching screw – here you can order replacements.

How the grub screw works

The screw is driven through the tube clamp fitting onto the inserted tube and cuts itself into the tube wall as it is tightened. This creates a positive lock that secures the connection against twisting and pull-out – with no pre-drilling, no thread cutting and no welding.

Sizes and tightening torque

Size 1/4" for the tube clamp fittings A27 (Ø 26.9 mm) and B34 (Ø 33.7 mm), size 3/8" for C42, D48 and E60 (Ø 42.4 to 60.3 mm). The tightening torque is 40 Nm in both cases and the thread pitch is 1.337 mm.

Why stainless steel

A galvanised screw in a galvanised fitting is the first thing to seize outdoors – it shears off when you retighten or dismantle it. Our screws are therefore made of stainless steel 304 (V2A, 1.4301).

Note: under dynamic loading, check all screwed connections regularly for tightness and retighten them.
